STEP 1:
Start on the left side column of the chart to find your size Palm Tree. This column is labeled "For Palm Trunk Width Of:"
NOTE: If you have a multi-trunk Palm similar to this picture, then use one measurement of the trunk grouping by measuring from far left to far right side of the grouping.
NOTE: CONTAINER PALMS WILL USE THE LOWEST FEEDING RATE APPLICATION LISTED ON THE LABEL
STEP 2:
Once you have found your size Palm Tree trunk in the left column, now read the selection of options in that row on the right. The different feeding rate options in this row are based upon average daily temperatures at this time of application of fertilizer.
For example, If you have a 8 inch wide Palm Tree trunk and the current daily average temperature is between 70-90 Degrees then you would use 2 measured cups of fertilizer as indicated in the chart.
STEP 3:
Fill your measuring scoop with the recommended amount of Palm Tree fertilizer that you have just found in the steps listed above.
Start evenly dispersing at least 6 inches away from the trunk and work your way outwards as far as the square foot area recommended in the chart.
For Example:
- If the chart states "1 Cup Per 40 Square Feet", then you would disperse 1 measured cup of the granules evenly across an area around 6 feet wide by 6 feet wide.
- If the chart states "1 Cup Per 70 Square Feet", then you would disperse 1 measured cup of the granules evenly across an area around 8 feet wide by 8 feet wide.
- If the chart states "1 Cup Per 100 Square Feet", then you would disperse 1 measured cup of the granules evenly across an area around 10 feet wide by 10 feet wide.
Remember, do not mound the Palm Tree fertilizer directly against the Palm Tree trunk when fertilizing and do not apply fertilizer closer than 6 inches from the trunk..
