New 2026 Research Establishing a Modern Standard in Palm Fertilization
Perfect Palm® Fertilizer was developed by Gary Kennemer after decades of applied research, field trials, and real-world failure of traditional palm fertilization programs. That research has now been formally published as a scientific working paper examining long-term palm fertilization strategies, nutrient delivery methods, and application frequency across nurseries, landscapes, and multiple soil and climate conditions. The study demonstrates that frequent, low-dose feeding programs provide more consistent nutrient availability, reduce deficiency cycling, improve structural growth stability, and significantly lower runoff and environmental risk compared to infrequent, high-dose fertilization methods. Much of what is still promoted today as a “Florida recommended palm fertilizer blend” is based on limited research conducted more than a decade ago under infrequent, high-dose feeding assumptions that no longer reflect modern horticultural practices or current environmental standards. Those recommendations have since been widely overgeneralized, marketed, and applied far beyond their original scope. This new research in 2026 clarifies that palm health outcomes are driven far more by nutrient delivery strategy and frequency than by rigid adherence to legacy blend ratios, especially across diverse soil types, palm species, and climates.
