XCU is the new generation of polymer-coated sulfur-coated urea (PCSCU). Its special manufacturing process gives each granule a durable, consistent and one-of-a-kind coating.
XCU is unique because it's the only PCSCU with an inner polymer layer, which consists of a thin, cross-linked polyurethane film that encapsulates and protects the urea granule. XCU's outer layers consist of a thin coating of elemental sulfur and a polymer wax, which work together to protect the inner polymer coating. When the outer sulfur and wax layers absorb water and/or are damaged, the inner polymer layer continues to deliver a consistent release of nutrients.
